The C/C Composite mentioned in the previous section is a new carbon material which has a completely different manufacturing method than that of conventional carbon materials and is recently being called "new carbon" or "carbon fiber".
In this group of new carbon is a product called "glassy carbon". For example, if a phenol plastic molded item is placed in a vacuum and gradually super heat calcinated to 1,500℃, it will become a glass-like material.
Because of its density, carbon powder has superior properties such as not leaking, so it has great possibilities to be used in the future for semiconductor manufacturing processes.
